Where can I find information about registering for the test? 

You can contact your nearest Examination Center or visit the Official IELTS Website for more information about application procedures and the location of a test center near you.


Who accepts IELTS scores?

IELTS is accepted Worldwide; find the score you need for your chosen organization. IELTS is recognized by over 10,000 Organisations Worldwide, including educational institutions, employers, governments, immigration.

What identification is required? 

You will need to have to take passport and mail print out with you when you register, as well as on test day. When you take the Speaking module, you will have to present your passport again

What can I take to the Test Room? 

A pencil, an eraser and a pen (a pencil will be needed for Listening and Reading). A bottle of water which should be transparent without any writing or labels on it. You will not be able to take anything else into the test room.

Can I take my personal belongings, such as Phone?

There will be an area where you will need to leave all your belongings. The British Council is not responsible for loss or damage to your personal belongings at the test venue.

How can I find out my results? 

IELTS results are available 13 days after taking the test in a secure environment. You will only receive one copy of your Test Report Form.


How long is IELTS score valid?

An IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) is valid for two (2) years.


How many times can you take the IELTS Test?

There is no limit on re-appearing for the IELTS exam, as long as your pocket allows. But, it is normally advised that you should not appear for the exam no closer than once in a period of two months.
